Whether you’re looking for a 50 person or 500 person affair, The Wedding Apothecary is here for you. Founded by Karen Mohan and Pratishtha Kohli, we are a boutique wedding planning service that brings together over 15 years of event and festival experience, as well as 5 years of curating the most perfect weddings, to build warm, intimate and beautifully crafted affairs for you and your partner.

But what makes us different? We’re here to get rid of all of the headaches, stresses, and infinite choices you constantly have to make! Whether you’re picking one of our pre-bundled packages, or a custom affair, we come with highly rated vendors, excellent taste, and an organized vision, so that your only job is to show up, and have the time of your life!

    Our all the frills option for a wedding where you want to party without changing locations! An intimate ceremony followed by cocktails, a buffet dinner and reception, with custom decor, photo + content creation, music and entertainment, and an open bar.

How far in advance do we need to book?

If you’re looking to book one of our pre-selected dates and packages, they are booked on a first-come-first serve basis (aka. if you book a time and date, nobody else can lock that in).

For our custom weddings, we ask for a minimum of 3 months to plan your date, as we want to take the time and consideration to make sure everything is perfect and all of our vendors are available for your special day!

What is the payment schedule for your weddings?

For our pre-packaged events, we take a 50% deposit upon booking, and the remainder of the payment takes place 1 week before your event.

For custom weddings, we have a 3 step plan, where you make a 25% deposit upon booking, 25% 1 month before your wedding, and all final payments are made 1 week before your big day.

Do you do 2SLGBTQ+ weddings?

Of course! As a business run by Queer WOC, we pride ourselves in creating safe, inclusive and vibrant ceremonies for all of our couples, and look forward to celebrating you!

Can we come to see the venue beforehand/do a food tasting?

We recognize how important it is for our couples to see their venues and try out the food beforehand. Please check our gallery page for virtual tours of our partnering venues. We do not offer food tastings to keep our costs affordable, but if you would like to sample some of the food offerings, this can be done so by booking directly with our food vendor.

How do I confirm my date?

When you book an appointment with us with your selected date and time, we will hold a 30 minute consultation with you! At this consultation, you can decide if you would like to proceed with our services, at which point, we ask for a 50% deposit on any of our pre-packaged services, or a 25% deposit for our custom services, which are to be paid within 7 days to confirm your hold on the date and time.

Do you do religious and cultural ceremonies?

Yes! We offer an add on service to any of our packages to bring on a religious officiant of your choice. The cost of this officiant goes directly to the vendor and the prices are reflective of their charges.

Just how much can we customize?

Quite a bit! Our pre-packaged deals are priced to allow for some customization (i.e. your decor colours, appetizers, welcome drink of choice, DJ playlists), but you can add on any of our custom options (content creation, live music, makeup and hair services, religious and cultural officiant, extra time or extra guests) for an additional fee.

Our custom weddings are fully customizable based on your budget, the sky is the limit!

Do I get ready at home, or on site?

We ask all couples and guests to arrive at the venue ready to go for their ceremony. As our timings for weddings are particular, we cannot offer get-ready-services at the venue, however we have a couple suite for touch ups and your private first look if you choose to arrive separately from each other, right before your ceremony!
